Surfers need to eat. Can't perform or endure unless you've got fuel in the machine. So with that in mind I've added a new category to the site- namely 'Noshing'. Food, eateries and more encountered on the road in this surfing life from roadside stalls to as posh as I can afford -as in not that posh- restaurants. Now Canary Wharf is in London. The big village that runs England. It's not renowned for it's surf but it does play home to a lot of surfers and if you are going anywhere more tres exotique then odds on you're around London to go to an airport (if you're going to City airport this is right on your flight path)...
Put simply Jamie Oliver's new joint is sublime. The service is the best I've ever had in a UK restaurant by a huge margin. The food was incredible and what's more amazing- reasonably priced. I had stuffed sweet peppers for starter, slow roasted pork belly for main and Italian style Bakewell tart for pud and that lot came in at £20. Cocktails and wine are also fair. Atmosphere was top notch, a real mixed crowd and a relaxed unpretentious vibe. Best of all is there's no reservations- just rock up and wait for a table on the bar terrace. It's still new in town so real popular but we only had to wait half an hour at 7pm on a monday.
