Nicholas Gurewitch is a genius. A twisted, warped, fucked up, 25-year old, son of a bitch but a genius all the same. His Perry Bible Fellowship cartoons are bizarre, sublime, weird, hugely entertaining and make admirable use of the three panel cartoon format. In three or four pics he can convey a movies worth of entertainment. For a preview check the new book out (it's a complete collection of the now semi-retired strip) I've got it and it's a treat, the kind of book you can't read in company cos you sit there chuckling. New Metric Album...
For those of you of a musical persuasion may I encourage you to check out Metric. They are awesome. If you're of surfing type then you'll know the Monster Hospital tune from Taj's section on Stranger Than Fiction (cruelly edited and shortened... grrr Kai!) that's from their last long player Live It Out. Their new one Fantasies is out end of April, I've been digging it for the last week, not because I robbed an advance copy off the bit torrents or anything but cos like NIN and Kristin Hersh Metric are like super web savvy. They've been offering fans a sick deal on their website- for the price of a CD you got three exclusive tracks straight off the bat, the MP3 version of the album when it came out last week and a proper deluxe CD job end of the month when it comes out physically. So there. Cunning buggers. The music biz is changing and if you know your beans as a band it's gonna be good times. Those with talent will shine through...
